About Kinkpedia

How the KinkLife Encyclopedia is written, checked and corrected, and what it is (and isn't).

What Kinkpedia is

Kinkpedia is an educational resource published by the KinkLife Network: a free, friendly A–Z of kink, fetish and community terms for adults aged 18 and over. It explains what words mean, how people tend to use them and where consent and safety come in, so curious adults can learn without judgement. It currently has 40 entries.

How entries are written

Articles may be drafted with AI assistance and are intended to be checked for accuracy, clarity and responsible discussion of adult topics before publication. Entries are credited to the KinkLife team rather than named individuals. They haven't been reviewed by doctors, therapists, lawyers or other professionals, and we don't claim otherwise.

We start from how terms are commonly used in kink communities. Where an entry makes a health, safety, research or historical point and a suitable source is available, we list it under Further reading at the end of the entry (10 entries currently cite 12 sources). Every cited page is fetched automatically whenever the site is updated, to check it still loads and still contains the passage we rely on. Some points don't have a source yet, and we'd rather say so than invent one.

Kinkpedia's daily Fact of the Day is drawn from these entries: each of its 365 facts restates a point from the entry it links to, was checked against that entry in a separate review pass, and uses the same sources for any health or history point.

Our standards

  • Adults only. Everything here is about consenting adults. Adult ageplay entries never involve minors.
  • Consent first. Every activity assumes informed, enthusiastic agreement that can be withdrawn at any time.
  • Educational, not graphic. No explicit images, no graphic descriptions, and no step-by-step instructions for risky activities like rope or impact play. Those are best learned in person from experienced people.
  • Honest about risk. No invented statistics, no fake reviews and no "totally safe" promises. Where evidence is thin, we say so.
  • Respectful. No slurs and no judgement. Sensitive topics such as consensual raceplay are explained carefully and kept separate from real-world harm.

Information can change

Health advice, laws, platforms and community language all change over time. Each entry shows when it was published and, if it has changed meaningfully since, when it was last updated. We don't change dates without changing content.

Corrections are welcome

If you spot something we should fix, please let KinkLife know through our main Telegram community, which is our official contact route. It's especially helpful to hear about:

  • factual errors or outdated information
  • broken or unhelpful sources
  • definitions that are unclear or don't match how the community uses a term
  • wording that could be unsafe or misleading

The group is a shared space, so please don't post private or sensitive personal details there. We can't promise a reply or a timescale, but when an entry is corrected its updated date changes.

Not medical or legal advice

Kinkpedia is general education. It can't know your health, your relationship or the law where you live, and it doesn't replace professional advice. For medical, mental-health or legal questions, please speak to a qualified professional. Some therapists describe themselves as kink-aware, which can make those conversations easier.
